Welcome to grade nine band! You have chosen to be a part of one of the largest music programs in all of Ontario, not to mention one of the best! All students enrolled in grade nine music, are a part of the grade nine band, that practises every Tuesday morning, conducted by Mr. Jull. With his “funny” jokes, and great conducting skills, you guys will be sounding fabulous in no time! As a part of the music program, you will be sure to meet TONS of new friends. You will also have the opportunity to take part in many MANY activities over the year, starting with Grade Nine Music retreat (who’s excited?), right up the Music Banquet at the end of the year. As well, just by being in grade nine, you have the opportunity to go to Washington DC! Imagine, going to a whole new country, having tons of fun, with all your friends for a few days, not to mention you get to miss school! That sounds like my kind of trip! Also newly added this year is the BUDDY SYSTEM! You will all be paired up with a cool senior music student to help you with anything you need, even a friendship! You know that your friends will all think you’re pretty cool if you’ve got grade 12s saying “Hi” to you in the halls! Markham Music is a great place to be! We hope, actually, we know you will enjoy your experience as a part of Markham Music, and we would love to see you continue with your music education! J
